About Us

We are dedicated to helping educate and equip Christians to be better managers for God. Most Christians have heard "stewardship" used only when the local church wants their money -- usually at the annual fund raising campaign.  Churches usually call these campaigns "Stewardship Campaigns", which makes us cringe. Stewardship is "the whole shebang", not just giving of one part of our possessions.

Some churches add a card asking people to list or check off their talents.  But again, it is most commonly done during the annual financial campaign. As a result, "stewardship" either gets a bad association with money or else gets very poor attention.

This site's goal is to counterbalance that warped perspective and set people back on the right path to being good stewards for God -- in all the things that God has given us.

Our history

The content for this site was developed over several years, but has its origin in a special class on Christian Stewardship given at Allgood Road United Methodist Church. After our family joined Avondale Pattillo UMC, we started a Web site for the church. After a few months, we could no longer resist the urge and used the Stewardship class materials to create a special Stewardship section of the APUMC web site.

Over time we added a "ton" of links to information related to nearly all areas of Christian Stewardship, from care of God's earth to social justice to stewardship of Relationships. Keeping links current was a challenge and it became obvious that if the church's web were to be done by another person, which inevitably it would, the web needed to be easier to maintain.

At that point, we used Microsoft Office Live Basics to create this web site and begin moving the tons of links here. This move project began in late October, 2006. It was a way to try out the free Microsoft service, which we had intended to do anyway, as well as assist in making the Avondale Pattillo web site more manageable.
